- Pull down the:
Tools -> Options Menu Item

server
- Choose:
The "Passwords" Authentication Style option
- Adjust:
The other options and check boxes to suit your preferences

- Select the:
Sending Mail Category
- Check:
Allow authentication check box
- Confirm:
The Secure Sockets when Receiving option is set to
"Never"
- Adjust:
The other options and check boxes to suit your preferences

- Creating additional (non-dominant) Eudora Personalities

- Pull down the:

On a personality you want to change and choose Properties or...

In the personalities dialog and choose "New" from the
context menu

"New" from the context menu;
- you will get a New Account Wizard dialog
- I normally skip directly to the advanced account
setup dialogs since I find that easy enough

- Whether you are creating a new account personality or
changing an existing personality's properties, you will
open a dialog which looks very much like this
- This tab (Generic) controls how your personality in
Eudora will interact with the SMTP server at dreamhost
- From the Generic Properties Tab do the
following:
- Enter or Update:
The information in the fields using the example on the
left
- If your ISP does NOT block SMTP...Check:
the "_A_uthentication allowed" check box
- If you want this personality to fetch it's mail from our
POP server...Check:
the "Chec_k_ Mail" check box

- This tab (Incoming Mail) controls how your personality in
Eudora will interact with the POP/IMAP server at dreamhost
- From the Incoming Mail Properties Tab do the
following:
- Enter or Update:
The information in the fields and options using the example
on the left (you may have slightly different wishes, so
your options may be different. However, the Authentication
Style option should ____ match?)
- You SHOULD be able to POP or IMAP your mail at/from the
Dreamhost POP/IMAP server assigned to your domain from
anywhere in the world regardless of what your ISP is doing
about SMTP blocking
- Click:
[ OK ]
- That should do it...you should be able to
fetch (POP/IMAP) and send mail through the SMTP server
assigned to your domain at Dreamhost
